Band Student
Scholarship

Each school year, the Newfoundland & Labrador Band Association awards one graduating grade 12 band student the

NLBA Band Student Scholarship.

Sarah Ralph, 2023 Scholarship Winner, Exploits Valley High School

“You can be yourself in a band room - you can’t always do that at school. If you're having a terrible day, band can help make it better. If your having a good day, band can help make it great."

Scholarship Details.

In an effort to celebrate student success in band, the NLBA has established a scholarship for a grade 12 band student, from any region of Newfoundland and Labrador, who exemplifies dedication to their band program. The successful applicant should display leadership, a degree of proficiency, and a genuine “love for band”.

This scholarship fund is largely dependant on publicly donated funds and therefore the amount awarded varies from year to year. Thanks to this year's generous public support, the NLBA was able to award the 2023 winner with a $1000 scholarship.

The NLBA welcomes donations of any amount to the NLBA Band Student Scholarship Fund for graduates of the 2023 - 2024 school year. Your support of Newfoundland and Labrador's band students is abundantly and genuinely felt and appreciated.
